About Us

In the Chorale, we don't just learn to sing the notes,

we learn to experience the music!

  • Founded more than 50 years ago as the Glee Club by Father David Shaum.

  • Students from every discipline in the University sing in the Chorale.

  • Audition required for participation.

  • Academic credit available!

  • Women's Ensemble formed in 2005.

  • Performs throughout  year on and off the Mount campus - touring an important part of our routine.

  • Concerts in Granada, Seville, and Madrid, Spain, as well as Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Montreal, Cooperstown, and New York's Carnegie Hall.

  • Sung with such notable ensembles as the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, The New England Symphonic  Ensemble, and Spectra Musica Early Music Ensemble.

  • Emphasis is on excellent musicianship and healthy vocal technique, as well as developing an appreciation for the historical, cultural, spiritual, and intellectual context of the music we sing.

  • Be sure to check out our Repertoire Page for a partial listing of works the Chorale has performed during the last decade.
