In the Chorale, we don't just learn to sing the notes,
we learn to experience the music!
- Founded more than 50 years ago as the Glee Club by Father David Shaum.
- Students from every discipline in the University sing in the Chorale.
- Audition required for participation.
- Academic credit available!
- Women's Ensemble formed in 2005.
- Performs throughout year on and off the Mount campus - touring an important part of our routine.
- Concerts in Granada, Seville, and Madrid, Spain, as well as Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Montreal, Cooperstown, and New York's Carnegie Hall.
- Sung with such notable ensembles as the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, The New England Symphonic Ensemble, and Spectra Musica Early Music Ensemble.
- Emphasis is on excellent musicianship and healthy vocal technique, as well as developing an appreciation for the historical, cultural, spiritual, and intellectual context of the music we sing.
